Whiteboards will make a huge difference in a student's learning whether we are learning within the classroom or distance learning. Each student will have their very own whiteboard and markers to maintain safety protocols.
For example, in 5th grade, we learn to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators. This is a multi-step process, and the students must keep their work organized as they work through the procedure.
Math paper can get messy and confusing, or rip with too much erasing. Whiteboards help students maintain focus and the quick eras-ability helps them work through their thought process more efficiently than paper.
During Math Instruction, students can practice on whiteboards and quickly erase and start again. Students solve problems on the whiteboard and the teacher can quickly identify if the student is ready to move on or needs more practice. Whiteboards eliminate a lot of paper waste also.
Whiteboards are also super handy for working through math problems when utilizing interactive software. The student can work out the problem on the whiteboard and then enter their response on to the computer. If the computer is telling them their answer is incorrect, they can use the whiteboard to show the teacher their work, get feedback, redo the problem, then resubmit.
