I work specifically with students with disabilities and some of them do not have access to technology or have to wait until their siblings are done working because they work slower and take more time. I would like to be able to offer them tablets in order to complete their assignments with no restrictions so they can succeed and be on the same playing field as their classmates.
I have one student in particular who is interested in computer gaming and coding and I would love to get him a MacBook so he can pursue his passion. I try to encourage him to do what he loves, especially because he struggles in other areas and is sometimes discouraged. It is important for me to encourage my exceptional students so they, too, can find the joy in learning because they sometimes get frustrated and discouraged with their struggles.
