By funding this project, you will help to set the stage for a successful year! When I drop off each students’ learning toolbox, we will exchange those first smiles! In the learning toolbox, we will have hands-on materials that will help build academics and social-emotional skills.
Each child will have a small stuffed animal to use as a breathing buddy and as a friend to read to. A dry erase board, colored markers, and eraser will allow students to be creative in how they express themselves. Art supplies will enable our little learners to create pictures and sentences to respond to stories. Dice and counters will be used in math games. Having these manipulatives will help to make all lessons hands-on and engaging.
Our district is supplying iPads and the curriculum apps needed for academics. Your donation will provide an individual stylus and headphones to each student. Our boxes will provide a safe storage place where it can all be easily accessed. The box itself will help to build responsibility by providing them a designated space to store supplies. They can move this box and all their needed supplies to a spot in their home that is conducive to learning. Hopefully, they will be bringing that box to school soon! In the classroom, these boxes will help to avoid the sharing of supplies and encourage social distancing.
