I will be using Chromebooks for almost daily lesson plans and activities. In the traditional classroom setting the Chromebooks can be used for research and student-based projects.
COVID has changed how we will be planning and implementing our lessons and I want my students to have the opportunity to succeed at home or at school. Also, if the school is closed many of these families can not afford to purchase their child the technology they need.
For example, in my Ancient World History class, the curriculum is totally Google classroom-based. I can go the traditional way and print everything off and use television to show graphics and videos, but I feel students will learn more if they themselves are "exploring" the past cultures. The Chromebooks would make the lessons more student-centered instead of the focus being on me. I feel that when students are doing they are learning.
Thank you for your consideration. I know it's a big ask, but the Chromebooks are so needed, across all of my curriculum.
