I would like each of my students to have a yoga mat next to their desk at school. We will use them to practice yoga and mindfulness in the classroom.
At times, we may just use the mats as alternative seating since this year kindergarten students are being asked to sit in a desk facing forward. This is a challenge for a 5-year-old! It is especially challenging for young children who have been stuck at home through a pandemic without the opportunity to prepare for a school setting.
The mats will be easy to wipe down throughout the day to keep them sanitary. Students will be able to take their yoga mats home during extended periods of virtual learning so that we can still practice from home using video chats.
