Many of our students do not have the materials at home they will need to be successful with distance learning. Many struggle to find pencils or glue to do homework during the regular school year. I would like to provide each child with a box of materials for home use. In the boxes, I want to include two novels we will read and discuss together as a class.
The two books I have chosen both include ethnically diverse main characters that represent most of the students in our school and community. I don't want children to spend the entire time in front of screen, but rather read good literature in books.
I have also included a tablet and stylus pen to be connected to a computer, so children will be able to see writing and drawings to help them better understand lessons and see the material being presented.
