I am requesting a list of new books for our classroom library. The majority of the book titles come directly from the literacy curriculum adopted by our school at the beginning of this year. Due to our budget-related restrictions, the resources that go with our new curriculum were not able to be purchased through our school. The rest of the book titles on this list align with specific interests of my students. Adding these books to our classroom library will truly impact the effectiveness of my literacy instruction. If our class is able to receive the books that go with the lessons, students will be able to build better reading lives around books they love. Students will also learn how to engage in a variety of texts that are devoted to a wide range of genres.
Students in my class absolutely LOVE to read.
I want to be sure that as their teacher, I support my students' literacy growth. I also want to challenge them to think critically about the multitude of genres that exist in their everyday lives. Through the use of these texts, my students will begin to see themselves as strong and independent readers, no matter their reading level. We will use these materials to help foster the excitement of what it means to become life-long readers. Thank you for your help in supporting our literacy development!
