My group of learners and kiddos are so beautifully and culturally diverse, in which they deserve these materials to support their learning experiences and embrace many cultures in the upcoming school year. The Lakeshore Learning Materials support all learners in literacy, but especially my English Language Learners. Many of the materials develop and enhance literacy skills while emphasizing speaking and listening for language development. These resources also promote small group and/or partner work, in which also supports a greater learning experience for these students socially and emotionally.
With these new books, our classroom library and readings will represent a range of culture and diversity, embracing the beautiful differences in the world. We live in a world where our differences need to truly be embraced, emphasized, and accepted with genuine love from all. The best way to teach and learn is through reading aloud to our students for open discussions in school. I love all of my students with a passion, they deserve to be heard, always.
This upcoming school year with social distancing will be a tough year for all. Which is why it is important to somehow make the in-person sessions a little brighter, and support social and emotional needs. With spacing 6 feet apart, positive and growth mindset floor spacers are embedded within this project. My students need to feel uplifted this year with many limitations and requirements out of their comfort zone, and I would love for them to see positive words wherever they move in the classroom.
