The Refresh Room at LBMS will be a positive, refreshing environment for students to learn about themselves as well as their peers. This room will be a unique space, fostering a sense of belonging within the school community. The Refresh Room will be a safe place for students to share their thoughts and feelings. In this space, students will learn about coping skills, self-confidence, mental health, cultural awareness, post-secondary options and many of the other mindsets and behaviors under the American School Counselor Association Student Standards. They will also learn skills covered under the Nevada Content Standards for Health such as 1.PCE.MS.1 Investigate the impact of a variety of healthy practices and behaviors to maintain or improve personal, community, and environmental health and 7.SM.MS.1 Demonstrate healthy practices and behaviors that will maintain or improve the health of self and others. The Refresh Room also holds a Counselor Closet where students can get access to food, clothing, hygiene items and school supplies.
