With our return to the class after months of distance learning, students will need extra help staying focused and engaged. Technology is a large part of our everyday life in 3rd grade. We use our iPads to practice math, spelling, vocabulary, enhance science and social studies lessons, listen to stories and practice reading fluency. Currently, my students are using old ear buds which are uncomfortable and we don't have a full class set, so only a limited number of students can use headphones at a time. Additionally, headphones help students drown out classroom noise and stay focused on their tasks, which is helpful when students are rotating through work stations and classroom noise is louder than usual. Our school is 60% free and reduced lunch, so asking students to purchase headphones on their own is not an option, and I'd love for them to be able to have quality materials. With quality headphones, my students will be able to utilize the technology in our class to its full extent. By donating to this project, you will help give my students the ability to listen, engage, and learn to the best of their ability.
