In the era of Covid-19, it has brought upon us and era of virtual learning, which has been a challenge for many scholars due to the limitations of not being able to create hands-on experiences. With this document camera I will be able to successfully model complex math content such as graphing, finding volume, mirroring the calculator screen and utilizing manipulatives to build conceptual understanding. I currently utilize videos, pictures and various apps, but the face to face experience has really made it difficult to make connections for various concepts. Normally, initial instruction included working in small groups to support certain examples for students, using whiteboards, but that is not possible. These barriers have limited scholars opportunity to be engaged in the lesson as well as participating hands-on learning. With the document camera, I will be able to better support my scholars, because they will have the ability to see me, the instructor, model expectations and processes that scholars should be practicing at home and bridge connections.
