These snacks and drinks will help keep my kids' hearts and bellies full! I will use them as rewards and basic meals for my students who come from low income families and rarely get 3 meals a day! These food items will also work well for lessons including place value, financial literacy, and nutritional value. It is important for my students to have real-world application, so using food as learning tools will have great results! We will use the prices and nutritional values to work on place value and number sense. 5th graders are also expected to convert measurements, so using the weights of these foods will be great hands-on means to do so!
