This year will be a little unique as I'll be trying to help 24 first graders adhere to CDC guidelines such as social distancing, extra hand washing and disinfecting. We will not have carpet as we usually do for students to come and gather at for lessons as we will only have things in the classroom that are easily cleaned or disinfected. The vinyl floor cushions on our wishlist will help kids be able to spread out on floors during lessons, read alouds, and class meetings.
Our first graders will grow as writers a lot this year! They learn how to form and punctuate sentences, what makes a good story, and how to add adjectives and details to the fiction and non-fiction stories they write. The primary-lined notebooks are perfect for first graders who are still practicing line spacing and letter formation. The composition notebooks sold in stores are often difficult for them to use because the spaces are too close.
Thank you for helping us spread out in the classroom this year and grow as writers!
