I am requesting materials that will be used to create tool-kits for my students to use at home during distance learning. The whiteboards will be used in multiple subject areas to help students show their understanding and participate on class ZOOM sessions. They will also be an invaluable to tool to support these early writers build their fine motor skills. The dry erase markers, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, and pencils will allow all students equal access to all learning activities. The Playdoh helps to relieve stress, illicit conversation, and provide students with a different modality to show their understanding. With these tool-kits, all my students will have equal access to the supplies they need to be engaged and participate actively in our classroom community even from home. Each student will be given a skills binder with velcro moving parts to practice letters, sounds, numbers, sight words, and other foundational skills. The write and wipe sleeves are great for allowing students to reuse materials for extra practice and review. With all the time students will be spending on a screen during virtual learning, these tool-kits will provide a much needed break. Hands-on practice is so important to student development, engagement and achievement. The students will be so excited to put these tool-kits to good use every day!
