The goal for this 3-day lesson is for students to use Nearpod to design a landscape plan for the school’s courtyard. Students will use their understanding of scale drawings, measurements and geometric shapes to redesign the courtyard. This project will show students why scale drawings are important and how geometry and proportionality are used in real-life scenarios.
Helping my students make a difference in their community through the use of mathematics is a game changer. I strongly hope that this can be a regular occurrence in my classroom, and help my students begin to enjoy math.
