When COVID first affected our community the only tool I was given by my school district was an extremely outdated Dell laptop. With technological platforms used to educate students such as Zoom and Google Classroom, the laptop I was given is not capable to preform these tasks. These seemly simple programs used to help aid student learn can not be run on my Dell laptop efficiently.
With the closure of my school site due to COVID-19 my student have to transition to online learning.
Our new normal is communicating with each other through a computer screen. Currently, I have a MacBook Air (personal). With an iPad I can run programs that cater to my students as a whole. I can also address the specific needs and challenges my students may come across during distance learning. Platforms such as Google Classroom, Zoom, FlipGrid and Seesaw will run efficiently. I will be able to teach long distance effectively .
