Children who have Autism often face many challenges involving sensory processing. Due to COVID guidelines, we can not have carpet rugs, blankets, and other soft or plush items in our classroom. We are going back full time in the classroom, 5 days a week. The mats will help aid me in teaching the students how to properly social distance from each other and be able to give them each an individual space that can be sanitized daily. It will also help us adapt the class to meet each individual student's sensory needs while keeping them all safe as these students can not wear a mask. Keeping these students socially distanced is key to keeping them healthy and safe in the classroom, and these yoga mats will aid in teaching this easier.
