As the school librarian I serve and support my students in many roles and through many subjects. In this time of uncertainty, I plan to use these materials to conduct distance learning lessons and read-alouds to help my students make connections to their learning and encourage their love of reading.
As the heart of our school, our library must be ever-evolving in order to best support our students' academic, social, intellectual, and emotional needs. I plan to use these materials to progress towards the goal that 50% of the books in the school library will feature diverse characters and stories.
In order to support a life-long love of learning, it is imperative that my students see themselves within the characters and stories they read. As the school librarian, it is my duty to ensure this happens.
