I am requesting an iPad, case and Apple Pencil to engage my students in more interactive, high quality, and engaging lessons during remote learning. One thing I have found overtime is that what we learn in school about how to teach the children we serve today, is very often outdated. The students that we serve now have grown up in a world that is driven my technology through means of the videos, social media, apps, and gaming platforms. I want to be able to provide them engaging content and material that brings interest into the socially relevant methods of today, while still laying the skill foundations of core subjects (ELA, MATH, Science, Social Studies). The iPad will allow me to create high quality videos to explain sustainability, informative memes that break down characters in literature, virtual posters, infograms and GIFs, run Zoom session with a shared screen I can write on similar to a whiteboard and social media like platforms to discuss socially relevant topics during our government unit. I am excited to bring students an educational experience that allows them to step more into the world of creativity and prepares them for the future jobs that they will be exploring.
