The use of a reading corner/area is essential in our everyday school life. I want to give my children an area in the room that is their cozy reading space. In my first year teaching, I didn't have much to go off of and noticed I did not have a place that was comfortable for my children to relax and read their books during their centers time. I want to come in this year, to my new set of students, giving them a space that they can call their own. I would love for them to see a display of books showcasing people who look like them, interests they share, or a book that they choose to read because it looks really cool. Along with that, a cozy chair they snuggle up on and read these books. That's my dream for them. I want my students to be excited to go to their independent reading center everyday!
