I will use the materials chosen for my project to support students both during testing and when providing social/emotional/behavioral support. I have a supply of fidget materials that I have always had available when evaluating students as young as three. Kids in elementary schools need sensory breaks when they are going through an evaluation that may take a couple of hours. We usually take breaks to play card games, Jenga, have a snack, and I often provide a fidget that they can use while they are with me. This is no longer possible with Covid...I cannot let my kids use my fidgets and then have other students use it later. I am hoping to have enough sensory tools available so that I can give one to each of the students I am working with and they can then take it back to the classroom with them.
