Since the Covid-19 pandemic, which has reshaped the way that we all approach teaching and learning, teachers are facing unprecedented challenges and have made exponential changes in the way that are reaching their students. For many schools where traditional learning has been the norm, the transfer from the classroom to emergency remote learning has created many practical obstacles. Many of these have to do with access, such as connecting to students, students to devices, and the internet. My project seeks to enable high quality instruction.
Effective remote learning rarely happens without a clear vision and purposeful planning. My dream is to transform a curriculum that is significantly reliant on hands-on, collaborative activities into one that can be meaningfully experienced at home. In order to facilitate authentic learning where my pre-kinder students can experience authentic learning, I need equipment that will help me deliver and capture concepts that can be achievable even in the absence of physical labs and hands-on materials.
