These materials will help to create an at home learning environment that is as if they never left the classroom.
I want my students to realize they can be scientist wherever they are, whether that be in the classroom, at home, or even at the grocery store! These materials will be used from home to help to support an environment rich in learning. I have requested lab materials to use with students, hardware such as the projector and interactive whiteboard that I can utilize while on Zoom meetings with my classes to work our problems together as physics has lots of math and for use of punnet squares in our genetics unit. The chart paper is great to use for formulas and our unit conversions that can be put up on the wall at any time for quick reference. Last but not least, the microscope technology to utilize in the cell biology unit for viewing specimen up close. My students deserve the world, and with how the environment for learning is currently, I am unable to provide that in my own home. These items will make it as if neither the students nor myself have left the comfort of the walls within our classroom. The situation we are in isn't ideal, but with this funding, I will be able to make the best situation of a pandemic.
