I believe that my students have the right to learn from multiple, diverse perspectives in order to grow their own thinking. By providing a more diverse library of books to supplement my curriculum, students will be able to connect with and learn new stories about important events and diverse people. My goal is to allow students the opportunity to read diverse stories that matter, have discussions about what they have read, and work towards creating a better future. My students and I will read these books together and then discuss ideas about how to be a more inclusive classroom. Students will also be able to borrow the books to take home. By reading and discussing these texts, my hope is that my kids may become help our country become a place that is truly fair and just for all.

About my class
