In the East Side of Los Angeles, there are limited amount of stores that sell school supplies. Due to the pandemic, many stores are closed and my students have less access to neighborhood stores.
My main concern is that my students that come from low socioeconomic backgrounds will not have the financial stability to purchase necessary supplies for this up coming school year. I am requesting to have white boards and individual pencil pouches to help them keep themselves organized and access to reusable writing objects. These requests not only support accessibility at home, but also makes their workspace engaging with tangible objects.
