The materials that I am requesting already have a home in the hands of each of my students during our virtual learning platform. While the use of computers have helped to push us all, well into the 21st century; they alone cannot take the place of those hands-on learning experiences that are so cruical for our primary age students. The dry erase boards will be used for our math guided practice, and to record modeled strategies, as well as the use of the base 10 manipulative blocks. They will also be used along with the giant letter kits. It will be a wonderful addition for each student to practice building words for their phonemic, and decodable literacy skills…on the magnetic surface of new dry erase boards!
My students are much more engaged in their learning when they have the opportunity to manipulate tools to reach their optimum success. Learning should continue to be fun and engaging. These materials that I have selected will undoubtedly make a positive impact in each of my students. Despite the learning constraints that this year has placed on all of us; when we provide the tools and strategies, and ensure that each child's learning needs are met, then they will continue to thrive and love learning. I am truly thankful and blessed to have a new group of students that are excited and ready for a new year to start. Let's make this year their best year yet!
