Middle school represents a turning point in students' minds where they stop simply following the latest trends, and start developing their own individual interests and hobbies. At the same time, social perception starts to play a huge role in deciding what they do and enjoy. As a result, kids begin to weed out particular jobs and fields because they just haven't had enough experience with it, or because it's not "for them". That's why I aim to provide my 7th and 8th grade students with the highest quality, most engaging, hands-on experiences I can so that they learn to love science the way I do. Science is something that should be done and experienced, not read about. Please help me get these kids excited about the world of science before they write it off and rule it out.
