As I think about my population of students, I am concerned how they will participate in remote learning successfully. Many of my students rely on community assistance to provide school supplies and weekend food packs. These programs are vital in aiding students to be success in the classroom. Now that we will learn remotely, these students will need additional resources such as books! As a first grade teacher, teaching reading is vital but this will be especially challenging during remote learning. Public and school libraries are closed which leaves many students no access to books. Early readers need to hold books in their hands. Your gift would provide an essential tool that many students won't have access to at home.
