In math it is very important for students to be able to collaborate with others as well as explain their work. Having these items will make that possible. My students will use dry erase boards and markers to collaborate as well as informal assessments. In math we collaborate about all problems and tie them to real world situations. We also use anchor charts so that students have something to look back at while they are trying to work independently. These charts are hung around the classroom as well as students group work.
