Hands-on math materials are necessary for students to develop abstract concepts using concrete objects. I rely on the use of them to help my students create clear understandings of place value, counting, number relationships, and computation with and without regrouping.
My virtual students need hands-on math materials at home to develop firm understandings of math concepts. The products I have selected will help them have physical interaction with materials that offer tangible reinforcement to virtual lessons in which they participate.
Furthermore, these students experienced school closure in the spring due to Covid-19. Skills from first grade may need to be relearned before they can progress to second grade skills. It is of utmost importance that these second graders have the opportunity to benefit from the use of the tools needed to continue to grow in mathematical understanding.
Thank you so much for your consideration! I appreciate you!
