When planning for mixed distance and in-class learning during covid-19, I realized both storage and transportation of laptops and school supplies were going to be difficult. The students will share a desk at school and will not be allowed (per administration) to leave supplies there. When distance learning, they will need a place to keep everything organized.
I also realized the toll that heavy backpacks would have on these 8-year-old backs! The students are all in an inclusion setting. I know it seems like a lot, but most of these students could never afford a backpack that costs $50. I am the special education teacher, but want to provide backpacks for all the students. OF the 23 backpacks, 10 are for students with a special needs. After everyone picks one, there will be 1 extra intended for a new student, but may it end up with a teacher if no new students come.
Rolling backpacks with laptop storage solves all the issues involved. The backpack provides storage for both home and school. Their backs will be protected when transporting all the needed books, computers, and supplies back and forth. Mahalo for helping!
