We are working to provide our learners with an experience as close to in-school learning as possible. These materials will be used at home so that the students can have a more interactive learning experience since they are still working on foundational school skills. Students use manipulatives to work on fine motor, lengthening time on task, and imaginary play. Having puppet-type materials available will allow for all the students to engage in singing nursery rhymes, retelling of stories, and demonstrating comprehension which are skills we work on daily. Since we have students who vary from new talkers to non-verbal, having pictures and objects for them to point to further enriches their communication no matter where they are. All of these materials will also be used in various ways to address each student’s Individualized Education Program goals and objectives.
