I just found out yesterday that this fall, my choir and general music kids will be not be able to sing, chant, or move. With social distancing, masks, and “no singing or chanting” restrictions, my students will be 6 feet apart from me and from each other, restricted to a mark seat, unable to sing, or to hear my singing voice. A class set of tubano drums will give my students an opportunity to perform together in an ensemble. These drums are perfect for teaching World Drumming Curriculum which is easily adapted to the hybrid model we will be following.
