These books will allow students to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read to them daily, and we then have good discussions about what their thoughts and ideas are about changes they can make in our world today. What can we do to make this world a better place for everyone. I have bought many books for them to read written by Africa American award winning authors that they can read independently! I also feel it is important for us as a class to read together as a group and have discussions about their thoughts and what we can do to make change happen. We can all learn to hate, but we can learn to love too. That is my goal as a teacher. To promote love of all and dispel hate. This book will give us another tool to work towards our goal.
