I have a wonderful group of First Graders this year. Everyday they come in with smiles on their faces, ready for the day. What makes this even more impressive is that some of these students are making their way from shelters, motel rooms, or unstable home lives. These are the students that will benefit even more from a great classroom library. Even with these challenges they continue to amaze me daily with the desire they have to learn. Some of my students will be read to every night before bed, but sadly some will not. The books they read in school may be the only books they see, and I feel that it is up to me to fill it with quality, award winning books.

About my class
