Our students at E.E.S. have recently returned to our school building after learning virtually for the first half of the year. We have implemented several precautions to protect our students and staff during the Coronavirus pandemic that have made our need for more supplies apparent. I teach art to our pre-K through fourth-grade students at Esperanza, and as an Oklahoma A+ arts integration school, we emphasize visual learning in all of our classrooms and recognize the importance of including fine arts in our learning environments. One of the recent challenges that we face is being able to safely provide our students with supplies that they would normally be able to share, like watercolor paints. By necessity, our A/B schedule does not allow for time between classes to sanitize all of our art materials, and having more paints would let more of our students learn with art materials that they are excited and eager to use.
