My diverse school with a small budget needs help with obtaining diverse books for our library.
As a librarian, my first passion is to promote a love of reading, especially in kids. This will be easier if I have books on the shelf that my students feel represent them. Currently, diversity on my shelves is at a minimum. I was hired to change things up in this library and I think this is the absolute least I should do.
The best part about these books is that they are not limited to the students of the school. Staff, families and friends of the students have access as well.
