My high school students live in a community where many students receive free lunch. They come from diverse backgrounds with a strong desire to learn and be challenged in new and exciting ways! They seize opportunities and are excited by new perspectives and additions to our classroom. Our curriculum is increasingly more difficult each year, so these snacks will allow my kiddos to concentrate on mastering the rigorous content instead of their hunger. If I can meet their basic needs like hunger, I will be more successful in meeting their academic needs as well.
