As you already know, many of us will be beginning this school remotely. This is my first year as a licensed Early Childhood Educator, and I will use all of these materials to ensure that each of my students is able to have a remote learning experience that mimics what their instruction would be like in the classroom.
Students will benefit from these resources by being able to take a deep dive into literacy and social emotional learning through the use of the texts. As a Montessori teacher, much of our instruction is hands-on but because of the global pandemic we will have to alter our instruction. I want to be able to bring an experience to students' homes that still help them to learn and grow. We aren't sure how things will evolve in our world, but I want to be sure that each of my students has access to an education that helps them to be able to navigate these trying times. I plan to use these materials to do a deep dive into literacy and social emotional learning. I will use the texts to ensure that students are still able to engage in fundamental readings even if they are being done remotely. I desire to introduce students to a variety of developmentally appropriate texts to ensure that their remote learning experiences are as enriching as possible.
