Our district is set to open with a blended learning model in September. Our students will learn both at school and at home. In this remote learning world, it is essential for students to know how to use tech devices. During Spring 2020 when schools were closed and remote learning started, our district provided students with Apple iPads. We are requesting a classroom iPad to help troubleshoot and teach the students how to use the device so that learning will be seamless when they are at home. During blending learning students will only be in person at school 2 - 3 days a week. In order to be successful, each student must know how to use the tech devices at home.
This iPad would be utilized to help us teach the students how to do their work when remote and it would also help us troubleshoot with students when they are not physically with us. While the students are in school we will also use this iPad in all subject areas. During math, they will be utilized for manipulatives (dice, base ten blocks, number line work, etc.) and math visual stories. We will also use it during reading for small group work and partner work. They will be used to view interactive stories and practice phonics.
