At East Jackson, we've made Social Emotional Learning a priority. We have decided to have each of 400+ students and staff create a statement of why they matter. We will then take a photo of each child with their statement and display them in our common areas.
We are asking donors to generously donate cork strips so that the photos can be displayed so everyone who enters our building can see each child's/staff member's face and know why they feel they matter. It is so important for people of all ages and backgrounds to put names to faces and know and understand that each individual is important in so many ways.
