COVID-19 has had such a negative impact on student's mental health and well-being. I want to make sure that this school as we try and reintegrate students back into the building that mental health and self-care are made a priority in my classroom.
Some students will still have reservations and anxieties about returning to school so journaling is a great practice to help them get their thoughts out onto paper, not bottling up their feelings on the inside.
Additionally, students have stress and have to learn how to healthily manage their emotions, so these journals will be used to practice a variety of positive emotional and mental health techniques that we will learn over the course of the year.
