My first graders are mathematical thinkers, some just beginning to become mathematicians. They need hands on manipulatives to learn and explore their work with numbers and other concepts.
I would love to send each of my students home with their own math tool kit to use for virtual learning.
Like it or not, students will be learning virtually for a least part of each week for the foreseeable future. My eager students need access to these manipulatives to help develop number sense and build upon already learned concepts. With these, they will be able to play math games at home and construct their own ideas about mathematical relationships.
