My students normally only read our books in my classroom, because we don't have enough books to send any home. This project would allow every single student to have an inspirational book about resiliency, survival, and hope to read while we are learning virtually.
I am requesting a class set of the inspiring novel, A Long Walk to Water, about a boy who survives a harrowing journey and then dedicates his life to helping others. A book for each student means hope on every bookshelf and inspiration in every heart without any limitations. It also means we can finish this book faster and have the opportunity to read more books over the course of this year. The more we read, the more empathy we have and the more we learn how to make the world a better place.
