Students will be able to learn more about string instruments, by receiving hands-on instruction with the ukulele. My fourth and fifth grade classes will increase their understanding of music theory and the basics of playing the ukulele. The students will learn the anatomy of fretted instruments and proper playing techniques.
My classes will be able to practice their playing skills at home and in the classroom. They will learn responsibility by taking care of their instrument in both settings. In addition, students will have the chance to perform songs for their peers and family in school assemblies.
