I have carefully crafted a list of books to cultivate an inclusive and welcoming classroom. These books will be used to facilitate conversations about love, kindness, acceptance, and more! For example, I will use the book "The Other Side" by Jaqueline Woodson to engage my students in a conversation about race-relations and challenging the status quo. Classroom libraries speak to what a teacher values. Help me show my students that I value them, and people unlike them, as we embark on a journey of celebrating differences. As a first-year teacher, these books will kick-start a lifetime of filling my classroom library with books that will transform the worldviews of hundreds of students. Thank you in advance!
