These books shelves will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I have strived to provide for my students. The shelves will allow independent access for all students. The addition of these shelves will greatly enhance the ease and accessibility of my students to read and look at books. My students have a wide array of special needs, from language delays, cognition and Autism. That doesn't deter them from wanting to hear and access literature in all forms. They love to hear a good funny interactive book and they like to do it on their own. I have watched a student who uses a alternate augmented communication device or AAC request specific stories that they love and want to read or look at on their own. These shelves will be a wonderful asset to our classroom. The use will encourage independence and help continue a love of reading for my students.
