More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education.
This is my first year of teaching so I'm starting with a fairly blank classroom. I'm blessed to be in a super supportive school, but with building from the ground up, it can be hard! With this list, I'm eager to build a classroom that the students love.
I do not have more than ten books currently; these books are also out of date. I really want my students to have a great selection in our classroom library that we can read in class and they can take home as well. Additionally, I'd like to have prizes as incentives for the students who reach goals. These goals may be tied to behavior or learning goals met.
I'm very excited that a resource such as Donors Choose exists. My students are top priority and having a full, fun classroom will be one step of that process.
