These items will help my students learn with hands on activities. For example, my students will use the toothpicks and mini marshmallows to help them understand the difference between 2-D shapes and 3-D shapes by building models of the shapes. A square, by connecting the toothpicks with marshmallows in the corners and then a cube by adding more toothpicks and marshmallows to see the difference.
Children learn the letters and sight words better, and can retain what they have learned easier, if they have moved while they were learning. My students will use the play dough to shape the dough into letters.
I also included books on CD, so my students can listen to stories and follow along with the book. This helps them with listening and coordination because they have to turn the page and do it when the CD makes a chiming noise. I want my students to be looking at actual books, not a screen with a book page on it.
