These books will help hundreds of students learn more about their emotional intelligence and sense of self. I picked these books to read to my students via virtual learning and when we are back in person because they are all fun, engaging ways to talk about some topics that might be hard to put into words for kids. They are a great way to start talking about tough subjects and give the students language for their feelings. These books will normalize the emotions that come with being a kid- lets talk about tough stuff with our students so they don’t feel like they are the only one feeling a certain way. These diverse books also serve as a way for these students to see themselves in the literature.
